In accordance with the Successors’ directive to lead, inform, network, and support the community (LINC), FCICA and the Successors will be collecting financial contributions throughout FCICA’s Mid-Year Meeting, October 3-5, 2018, and sponsoring the optional “Counting on You” dinner on Wednesday, October 3, at The Mill in Hershey.

Attendees will enjoy food and fun activities at The Mill while raising money for the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center Children’s Hospital. A portion of the “Counting on You” dinner ticket price will go directly to the hospital, and there will be opportunities for additional contributions at the event (cash only; gifts are not tax-deductible). Cost for the event will be $88, including a trolley to and from The Mill, a three-course plated dinner, and two drink tickets. Additional beverages will be available for purchase. This event is an independent fundraising event benefiting Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, and is not sponsored, co-sponsored or produced by Hershey Medical Center.

On October 4, Successors will have dedicated networking time with their peers during the Successors’ Breakfast. Fred Williamson of Starnet Worldwide will be guest speaking on his personal experiences in the flooring industry. Following breakfast, the Successors will sponsor the first educational session of Mid-Year: Recruit, Motivate and Retain Top Talent, presented by Nelson White of Spartan Surfaces.

“While running a business can be extremely lonely at the top, we all need to understand that business should be fun, our team members should have fun, and the organization should provide an outstanding culture for our team members. Attitude is everything up front, however, the consistency with which you share your message long-term will determine your success in Recruiting, Motivating, and Retaining Top Talent.”

The Successors will also host a team for the Eat, Create, Demolish event on October 5. They’ll begin the day with a tour of Hershey and fun chocolate themed activities at Hershey’s Chocolate World. Back at The Hotel Hershey, the Successors will work together to construct a model house using only foam board and duct tape. Curtis Blanton of DCO will lead the team in building their house and taking down the other teams’ constructions.

All attendees at Mid-Year age 40 and younger are encouraged to participate in the Successors group and their sponsored events. Attendees over the age of 40 will be warmly welcomed at the “Counting on You” dinner and the Successor-sponsored education session, as well as on the other teams at the Eat, Create, Demolish event.
