Northbrook, Ill. -- ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, and the National Academy of Floor Covering Training (NAFCT) jointly announced that the two organizations have entered into a memorandum of understanding regarding shared educational offerings to members.
“Both ISSA and NAFCT have a shared passion for education,” said Brant Insero, director of education, training, and certification for ISSA. “Our joint efforts will lead to a richer and more thorough educational lineup for the cleaning industry.”
Inserno said that the two organizations will meet in early September to outline what they want to do moving forward. Possibilities include live events, workshops, and home study programs.
“We are currently interested in creating new education and certification programs for ISSA members and we feel that NAFCT can provide the opportunity for our membership,” Inserno added. “We often feel that before a person can maintain a surface, they need to be able to identify the surface type and if there is an issue, they might need to understand the installation process. Identifying the problems that occur when it comes to flooring will help our members understand the proper solution that is needed. Our industry is changing and requiring our cleaning teams to do a lot more.”
