NTCA Announces Plans for Apprenticeship Program
The National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) has announced through its most recent Tile TV video to members that the group’s executive committee will be rolling out an apprenticeship program as part of its key strategic initiatives for the 2019-2020 year.
In the video, Tile TV host Michelle Russo stated that the program will aim to help members “recruit, train and retain workers.”
The plan calls for NTCA to become a sponsoring provider of apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs. Russo called the plan a shift in the executive committee’s thinking, as previously recruitment and training “entailed staff support and access to training through NTCA University programs.”
Once NTCA is approved as a sponsoring provider of apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeships, the association will first roll out the program “in areas where members have expressed interest to participate,” Russo noted in the video.
