For many 16-year-olds, getting a driver’s license is the highlight of that millstone year. For Stephen Wood, owner of The Great Alaskan Flooring Company in Kodiak, Alaska, age 16 was the start of an early and progressive career in the flooring industry. Installing floors as a teen, Wood went on to start his own installation business at 18, followed by the opening of his first showroom at 19. As a young business owner, Wood is operating an expanding business, while giving back to the communities he serves and the employees that help him run the show.
