“The excellent response confirmed the strategic role of DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR in the flooring industry, and it revealed the readiness of companies to boost their business in 2021” said Jessica Zhu, vice president, VNU Exhibitions Asia.

In 2021, DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR, welcomed back popular events and conferences and introduced some new highlights that were warmly received by the industry.

World Flooring Forum (WFF)

With its theme centered around “Cultivating new Forms of Business – Enabling New Growth”, the World Flooring Forum, in association with the China Forestry Association, welcomed 23 renowned experts and outstanding entrepreneurs as speakers. Their presentations were presented to more than 400 industry elites representing more than 200 companies in China. Through online video streaming, Craig Dupra, chairman of the National Wood Flooring Association in the United States, presented the current status of the Wood Flooring Industry in North America, with a focus on distributor channels. Tanja Kern, editor, Floor Trends magazine presented a more global approach on figures of the wood flooring industry.

Global Flooring Connect (GFC)

Global Flooring Connect, DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR’s online digital platform, was the main point of reference for the international exhibitors and visitors who could not make it onsite due to this year’s travel restrictions. More than 150 buyers—from construction engineers to traders and distribution agents—were online during the three days of the show and conducted 330 meetings with around 220 of the exhibition’s onsite exhibitors. The satisfaction rate of both exhibitors and buyers that participated in the digital match-makings was over 95%. At the same time, virtual booth tours, live streaming events and exhibition tours, coverage on social media including TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and LinkedIn exceeded 2,500,000 total unique views.

VR+ Interior Decoration Blind Boxes

Five up-and-coming young interior designers from China joined forces with international flooring brands in creating Virtual Reality Interior spaces using flooring products from these exhibitors. During the exhibition visitors could enter those black blind boxes and experience a new form of space design with special VR technology and physical material display.

Concurrent Events

As a rising trend, real estate tends to favor the integration construction and installation. Within this concept, relevant concurrent events taking place at neighboring exhibition Halls, at the same time as DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR 2021, complimented and increased the shows stand in the industry.

The Interior Prefabricated Decoration (IPD) exhibition brought well-known domestic real estate developers onsite, such as Jinmao and Jindi. They jointly presented a construction of a prefabricated home complete with internal decoration. As a result, IPD, attracted a large number of contractors, developers, interior decorators and related suppliers onsite.

Cadex featured design-themed events, showcasing the latest trends in interior design and architecture through seminars, forums and talks by influential design experts. Its “Healing With Design” summit was a hit with the audience, exploring new possibilities of commercial and architectural designs that will support a better social experience of public spaces in high-density cities. “Shaping the World with Joy”, as an all-day project show-case, explains and presents how design can bring happiness to people, even at troubling times, such as now, in an epidemic era.

In 2022, DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR, will launch its 24th edition from May 25-27, 2022, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Hongqiao, Shanghai. As China will be hosting the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022, the exhibition is moved later in spring, in order to avoid any possible issues or disruptions arising during that time that could affect the exhibitors’ and visitors’ participation.
