John Steier, owner, Steier Flooring in Algona, Iowa, decided to take the first step to do something about the installation crisis in his area. After approaching a local high school, Steier was allowed to work with the shop students for several days, walking them through carpet installation. Much to his surprise, they were fully engaged, and all eight students worked to complete the assignment, keeping each other in check and sharing some laughs along the way. He even got a few phone calls from very happy parents.
