The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) is celebrating Women in Construction Week March 5 to 11. The NAWIC established Women in Construction Week in 1960 to honor women in the construction industry, "highlighting all the great initiatives and work of women within the industry" and bringing "to the fore the opportunities that are available to women in construction," according to nationaltoday.com.

The association works to create awareness of women in the industry and to educate and support its members, creating networking opportunities. The NAWIC's goal is to “strengthen and amplify the success of women in the construction industry.”

According to NAWIC's website, "All women working in construction are eligible for membership, including women builders in the trades, project management, marketing, administration, and executive leadership. Women in related industries who work on construction related business, such as finance, legal, and other complementary industries, are welcome as well.
