Thursday, March 16 at 1:00pm CDT, the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) and Mapei will host the free webinar "Surface Preparation for Tile & Stone." Jim Whitfield, director of technical services, Mapei, will be the speaker for the event. 

The presentation will:

• Review of substrate tolerance and flatness requirements found in industry standards. 
• Learn how to properly specify substrate preparation for your most important finishes. 
• Discuss the different methods and products used in surface preparation. 
• Understand how self-levelers perform and learn the basics of self-leveler applications including recently added ANSI product and installation standards for Flowable Hydraulic Cement Underlayment / Self-Leveling Underlayment.

Jim Whitfield FCSI, CCPR, LEED AP is the Director of Technical Services at Mapei. He manages a strong Technical Services department that provides support for Mapei’s many products for Floor Covering and Tile and Stone Installation Systems. He is actively involved in the development of tile industry standards on TCNA Board and Handbook, ANSI A108, and ISO committees. Jim is also on the NTCA (National Tile Contractors Association) Technical Committee. He is the current President of the MMSA (Materials, Methods and Standards Assoc.).
